Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By using Robertson County Criminal History, you agree to the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a local log of the terms entered into those boxes.

Messages and Contact Submissions

Messages sent to us may be retained so that we can respond. They remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, standard server and analytics systems may collect these technical details:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a device. They and analytics services help summarize traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Robertson County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Robertson County Sheriff's Records Division, local criminal courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Criminal Records Unit, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own policies, not this policy, govern information submitted through those tools. Because each partner controls retention and sharing on its systems, read its privacy terms before searching.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to sheriff, court, Tennessee agency, legal-aid, and outside search pages. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal details.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across websites and select targeted advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet-connected system can promise perfect security, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such data is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence. Tennessee consumer protection law, including the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act at Tenn. Code Ann. §§47-18-101 and following, may provide additional remedies. You may also:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. Any new version will appear here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review the page from time to time.
